Alexander Ericson Sollee
is a former Assistant Professor of the Institute for Archaeological Sciences of the University of Bern
Alexander E. Sollee was born 1984 in Tegernsee, Germany. He studied Near Eastern Archaeology at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University of Munich, at the Oriental Institute of the University of Chicago and at the University of Bern, where he submitted his dissertation on Neo-Assyrian fortifications in 2016. He has worked as a research assistant, assistant professor as well as postdoctoral fellow at Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich, the University of Bern and Eberhard Karls University Tübingen and has excavated at various sites in Turkey, Syria, Iraq, and Central Asia. Research Foci include: Neo-Hittite societies, Neo-Assyrian studies, Mesopotamian Archaeology.
