Julia Rubanovich
is Professor of Persian Language and Literature at the Department of Islamic and Middle Eastern Studies at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem
Julia Rubanovich, born in 1969 in Tallinn, Estonia, earned her PhD degree from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in 2004. She is Professor of Persian Language and Literature at the Department of Islamic and Middle Eastern Studies at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, where she also serves as the Academic Head of the Iranian Studies Program. Among her research interests: the Alexander-Romance in the Islamic domain; the reception of the Shāh-nāma; folk prose dāstāns; Judeo-Persian biblical narrative poetry; orality, authorship, and canon formation in medieval Persian and Judeo-Persian literature.
