Dorothea McEwan is Honorary Fellow of the University of London after having been the Director of the Warburg Institute Archive. Her research focuses on a variety of research agendas: the cultural relations of the Habsburg Empire with Egypt and the Sudan, the publication of Warburgian topics on the history of scholarship and science, and the history of the Sudan and Ethiopia in the 19th century. She is an Associate Fellow of the Ethiopian Academy of Sciences. Her publications include “A Catholic Sudan: Dream, Mission, Reality” (1987); “Das Ausreiten der Ecken.
