Patrick McAllister
is a Researcher at the Institute for the Cultural and Intellectual History of Asia at the Austrian Academy of Sciences
Patrick McAllister received a PhD from the Institute for South Asian, Tibetan and Buddhist Studies of the University of Vienna in 2011. From 2013 to 2016 he was a researcher in a DFG funded project focusing on Buddhist theories of inference and perception, conducted at Heidelberg University’s Cluster of Excellence “Asia and Europe in a Global Context.” He is currently a researcher at the Institute for the Cultural and Intellectual History of Asia of the Austrian Academy of Sciences. His primary focus there is on ontological and epistemological theories developed by Buddhists during the 9th to 11th centuries (especially in the works of Prajñākaragupta, Jñānaśrīmitra, and Ratnakīrti).
