Elisa Martini
is a Research Associate at the Galleria Borghese
Elisa Martini obtained her PhD in Modern Art History from the University of Ferrara, with a dissertation on Filippo Lauri and decorative painting in Rome in the second half of the seventeenth century. She studied at the École du Louvre in Paris, Sapienza University of Rome, and the University of Florence, and was a recipient of fellowships from the Fondazione di Studi di Storia dell’Arte Roberto Longhi, the Francis Haskell Memorial Fund, and the Ermitage Italia Foundation. She is currently a scientific collaborator at the Galleria Borghese, where she coordinates the scientific organization of conferences and lectures and oversees the Progetto collezionismo series. Her research focuses primarily on the visual arts - particularly painting - in Rome between the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, artistic collecting, and palace decoration. She also works on artistic exchanges between center and periphery and on the presence of foreign artists in Italy.
