Anne MacDonald

is a Senior Scholar at the Institute for the Cultural and Intellectual History of Asia at the Austrian Academy of Sciences

Anne MacDonald studied in Canada and Hamburg, Germany. She received her doctorate in Indology from the University of Vienna in 2003, where she was employed as an Assistant Professor at the Institute for South Asian, Tibetan and Buddhist Studies. She has been working as a researcher at the Institute for the Cultural and Intellectual History of Asia at the Austrian Academy of Sciences since 2010. Her main areas of research are the philosophical traditions of India and Tibet, with a special focus on Madhyamaka Buddhism.
