Fredrik Liland is a lecturer in Tibetan and Buddhist philology at MF Norwegian School of Theology, Religion and Society, and an institute fellow at the Norwegian Institute of Philology (PHI). He has been involved in various translations and philological projects at PHI over the years, most notably the development on the Bibliotheca Polyglotta, a digital corpus of major historical multilingual texts. Fredrik’s main interests are Indo-Tibetan Buddhism and comparative philology. He has also spent four years as a monk at Thrangu Sekhar Retreat Center where he immersed himself in the study of Buddhist meditation practices.
