Anat Cohen-Weinberger
is Head of the Petrographic Research Laboratory at the Israel Antiquities Authority
Anat Cohen-Weinberger is Head of the Petrographic Research Laboratory at the Israel Antiquities Authority and received her PhD from Tel Aviv University (2007). Her dissertation topic was "Petrography of Middle Bronze 2 Age Pottery: Implications to Understanding Egypto-Canaanite Relations". She studies the technology and provenance of pottery and other clay objects and has published dozens of peer-reviewed articles on these issues. Her research topics include analyses of a variety of pottery from the Neolithic to Medieval times, aiming at identifying trade networks, group migrations, and social and economic contacts and their mechanisms. She took part in the Levantine Ceramic Project in formulating the petrographic structure of the database and content.
