Ulfat Abdurasulov

is a Post-Doctoral Fellow at the Institute of Iranian Studies at the Austrian Academy of Sciences

Ulfat Abdurasulov was born in 1977 in Uzbekistan. He earned his PhD from the Institute of History at the Uzbek Academy of Sciences in 2009. Since 2014 he has been employed as a Post-Doctoral Fellow at the Institute of Iranian Studies at the Austrian Academy of Sciences. Abdurasulov's research focuses on the history of Islamic Central Asia (17th to early 20th century), the Russian protectorates in Central Asia, the early modern diplomatic history as well as the history of record-keeping and archiving. He is co-author of the Seeking Justice at the Court of the Khans of Khiva (19th–early 20th century). He is currently carrying out research as part of the project "Central Asia in Russian Diplomatic Archives (17th-19th centuries)".
