This important work offers a comprehensive analysis of the early Roman necropolis discovered in 2011 during preparatory work for the construction of a wind turbine in what is now Burgenland (Austria). The find complex, consisting of 31 inhumations and cremations, provides insights into unknown burial rituals and lifestyles of the pre-military Roman era. The graves document for the first time inhumations from the first half of the first century AD, deviating from urban Roman traditions. Grave goods such as fibulae and other artefacts point to an indigenous group that lived in the region before the Roman military presence. Archaeological evaluation and scientific analysis provide a comprehensive picture of the pre-Roman way of life and burial traditions. This includes archaeozoological, botanical, genetic and anthropological investigations. This monograph offers a valuable contribution to the history and culture of the early Roman period.
