Die Brandpilze Österreichs

An annotated checklist of smut fungi from Austria is presented. Altogether 168 species in 25 genera have been counted so far. The host plants of 166 further smut species occur in Austria. These species are listed also in the catalogus. Ten smut species are recorded on noteworthy host plants, which are not mentioned by VºNKY (1994). All genera recorded from the area are arranged in a synopsis showing their current position in the modern classification system for smut fungi. Grid maps for all species, photographies and check lists of smut fungi from the political and ecological regions of Austria are presented on the CD published with the book.
