Das österreichische Theater in Lemberg im 18. und 19. Jahrhundert

This book describes the previously unknown history, spanning almost one hundred years (1774-1872), of the Austrian theatre at Lemberg, which, after Prague and Budapest, was the third-largest privincial stage of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy. The continued existence of this theatre in a city in which Austrians formed less than 5% of the population, was extremely difficult and precarious, despite massive financial support from the government.
