Planetary Radio Emissions V

Planetary Radio Emissions V
Proceedings of the 5th International Workshop held at Graz, Austria, April 2–4, 2001
1. Auflage, 2002
From the Foreword: The present 5th International Workshop on "Planetary and Solar Radio Emissions" was held shortly after the flyby of Cassini past Jupiter in December 2000, when the Jovian magnetosphere and its interaction with the solar wind were monitored for the first time by two spacecraft, Galileo in orbit around Jupiter and Cassini at a flyby distance of about 136 Jovian radii, crossing the Jovian bow shock several times. The ever increasing number of contributions, however, did not extend to all known radio planets but rather focused on Earth and Jupiter, and on the Sun as an additional radio source in our solar system. This may certainly have changed by the time Cassini reaches the Saturnian realms. Like the previous four volumes which have appeared in the "Silver Series" of the Austrian Academy of Sciences Press, the present proceedings without doubt define the latest state of knowledge in this discipline.
