1. Auflage, 2000
The 2nd part of the Catalogue of manuscripts belonging to the Benedictine Monastery at Kremsmünster first describes 17 illuminated late- and postmedieval manuscripts in the "treasure-room", among the “Officiolum beatae Mariae virginis” as a classic example of Bolognese book painting in the Trecento, a book with pictures of Turkish national dress, 5 albums originated from the 16th, 16/17th and 19th centuries, and the 4 illuminated libri roturales of the monastery. The main emphasis is on the 80 late medieval manuscripts of the general numerical order from CC (= Codex Cremifanensis) 1 to CC 100; most texts, naturally, belong to various theological disciplines, in particular you’ll find a lot of sermonaries; but there are, amongst many other things, also manuscripts from the fields of Artes liberales, medicine and science, further Latin classical and humanistic as well as Middle High German texts. The cataloguing includes, as the first part of the Kremsmünster catalogue, an accurate and exhaustive description of contents as well as data to codiology, writing, illumination, binding, history of each manuscript and bibliographical data belonging to it. There are also illustrations at the end of the catalogue volume; all dated manuscripts are shown in photographs in a seperate file. A seperate index volume with two main indices, one of incipits and one of persons, places ,titles and subjects, makes the catalogue accessible.
