The enclosed recording was made using a portable recorder in the Emperor´s villa in Ischl in summer 1903. The sound quality of all historical recordings is dependent on the technology of the time and the location of the recording, thus such historic recordings often suffer from intrusive background noise, the enclosed recording is no exception. However, the excitement of hearing the emperor´s voice gives a unique life to history.
