Daniela Williams
is a post-doc Researcher at the Austrian Archaeological Institute (ÖAI) of the Austrian Academy of Sciences (ÖAW)
Daniela Williams, born in 1979, studied Classics, Archaeology and Numismatics at the Università degli Studi di Roma Tre (Italy) and received her PhD in Ancient History from the University of Roma Tor Vergata (Italy) in 2007. Since 2013 she has been working as a post-doc researcher at the Austrian Academy of Sciences in Vienna. Between 2013 and 2020 she took part in two projects on 18th century numismatic correspondence as a research associate, and since 2021, she leads a project on 18th/19th century casts of ancient coins, for which she received funding from the Hertha-Firnberg-Program of the Austrian Science Fund (FWF). Her main research areas are the history of numismatic scholarship in the Early Modern period, ancient coin finds in Italy, Greek and Roman coinage.
