Ianir Milevski is Head of the Prehistoric Branch at the Archaeological Research Department of the Israel Antiquities Authority and received his PhD from Tel Aviv University (2005). He has directed and participated in a large number of archaeological excavations focusing on the late prehistory and proto-history and published and edited numerous books and articles. Milevski was part of several research projects at the W.F. Albright Institute of Archaeological Research in Jerusalem and the TOPOI program at the German Institute of Archaeology in Berlin. He directed the salvage projects at Quleh and Mazor (West) during 1997, 2000-2001. Currently he is part of an international cooperative project at Tel Erani focusing on the early urbanization of the site and the relationship with Egypt at the end of the fourth millennium BC. His main topics of research are related to the socio-economic developments of the late Prehistory in the Levant.
