Livio Marcaletti
is Postdoc Assistant at the Institute of Musicology and Performance Studies, University of Music and Performing Arts, Vienna
Livio Marcaletti studied Musicology and Italian Literature at the University of Pavia (Italy). In 2015 he obtained a Ph.D. in Musicology at the University of Bern (Switzerland) with a dissertation on "Gesangsmanieren" and German singing treatises of the 18th and 19th centuries, where he also worked as a research assistant in a project funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation. Afterwards he held two scholarships of the Swiss National Science Foundation at the Institute of Musicology of the University of Vienna, he has recently worked on the FWF stand-alone project "Translating and rewriting Italian opera in German-speaking countries (ca. 1600- ca. 1750)". Since June 2022 he is university postdoctoral assistant at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna. Research interests are historical performance practice, librettology, and Italian-to-German opera translations.
