Ronit Lupu is a Prehistorian at the Israel Antiquities Authority, focusing on the Chalcolithic period in the levant. Her master's Thesis is titled "Mazor (West)- A Chalcolithic Burial complex in the margin of the Coastal Plain and the Samaria Downhills"(2009). In her PhD, which is conducted at the Hebrew University, she is focusing on the early and late Chalcolithic Periods in the area of Jerusalem. She participates and directs excavations from various periods, all over the country, and in recent years is involved with the Judean Desert Caves Archaeological Survey.
