Andrea Lindmayr-Brandl
is Professor for Music History and Chair of the Schubert Research Center at the Austrian Academy of Sciences
Andrea Lindmayr-Brandl is Professor em. of music history at the University of Salzburg. She studied musicology, philosophy and mathematics at her home university, at the Mozarteum Salzburg and at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis. Her dissertation concerns the sources for the motets of Johannes Ockeghem (Laaber 1990), her habilitation analyzes Schubert’s fragments (Stuttgart 2003). She has held the Austrian Chair Professorship at Stanford University, has been guest professor at the University of Vienna and is an active member of several academic institutions and organisations. Her field of research comprises studies in Renaissance music, manuscript and early print studies, music notation and editorial work, as well as Franz Schubert and his time. She is Chair of the Schubert Research Center at the Austrian Academy of Science, which was founded in 2021.
