Sanae Ito

is Research Fellow of Japan Society for the Promotion of Science

Sanae Ito, born 1980 in Japan, studied Assyriology at the University of Tsukuba and the University of Helsinki.  She received her Ph.D. from the latter university and specializes in the state correspondence of the Assyrian Empire. She has worked for the Intellectual Heritage of the Ancient Near East Project in Helsinki. She has been the JSPS Research Fellow from 2017 and teaches courses on Akkadian and the history of the Ancient Near East in Japan.
