Max Haller
is Prof. em. of Sociology and vice-chair of the Commission for Migration and Integration Research at the OEAW
Max Haller, born 1947 in Sterzing (Italy), 1985-2015 Prof. of Sociology at the Univ. of Graz. He was president of the Austrian Sociological Association and is a member of the Austrian Academy of Scieces. Co-founder and Vicepresident of the European Sociological Association and co-founder of the International Social Survey Programme (ISSP). He was a visiting professor at universities in Austria, Germany, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Trento (Italy), Sta. Barbara (California, USA) and St. Augustine University of Tanzania (Tanzania). He published and edited 40 books and about 250 papers in international sociological Journals (including AJS, ASR, Review Francaise de Sociology, International Sociology) and readers.
