Teresa Bürge
is Research Associate at the Austrian Archaeological Institute of the Austrian Academy of Sciences
Teresa Bürge studied Classical Archaeology and Old Semitic Philology and Near Eastern Archaeology at the University of Vienna, where she gained her PhD in 2016. Since 2013 she is Research Associate at the Institute for Oriental and European Archaeology at the Austrian Academy of Sciences. Teresa Bürge is Co-director of the excavations at Hala Sultan Tekke, Cyprus, and Tell Abu al-Kharaz, Jordan. Main research interests: archaeology of the Bronze and Iron Ages in the Eastern Mediterranean, pottery and pottery provenance studies, as well as cult, ritual, feasting and mortuary practice.
