Kenneth B. Steinhauser
A native of Brooklyn, New York, I studied philosophy and theology in New York, Rome, Tübingen and Freiburg in Breisgau. From 1980 to 1990 I taught at Sacred Heart College and Belmont Abbey College in Belmont, North Carolina. Since 1990 I have been on the faculty of SLU, which has been and continues to be a wonderful experience for me. In the spring of 2007 I was Visiting Professor at the Istituto Patristico Augustinianum in Rome. It was great to return as a professor to the city where I had spent four years as a student. In 2010 I participated in an NEH Seminar on autobiography in antiquity in Tunis. In 2012 I studied the oldest manuscript of Augustine’s works at the National Library of Russia in Saint Petersburg. In 2013 I completed a term as president of the North American Patristics Society.
