is Senior Researcher at the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute ArchPro and lecturer at the University of Vienna
Matthias Kucera was born in 1974 in Vienna, Austria. He studied physics, philosophy and archaeology at the University of Vienna and finished his master studies in physics in 2003, and his doctoral program in 2017. Since 2003 he is lecturing at the University of Vienna dealing with experimental archaeology, theory of science, archaeometry and interdisciplinary concepts. Since 2010 he is senior researcher at the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute for Archaeological Prospection and Virtual Archaeology (LBI ArchPro). His main scientific focus is set on 3D data acquisition, magnetometry and integrated interpretation and data management of archaeological and complementary datasets gained by natural sciences. This requires also basic philosophical and theoretical research regarding interdisciplinary workflows and concepts.
