Plaudite! Musik von Fux, Telemann und Vivaldi

Plaudite! Musik von Fux, Telemann und Vivaldi
1. Auflage, 2021
The Imperial Court Kapellmeister Johann Joseph Fux (ca. 1660–1741) is considered the most important Austrian Baroque composer. His extensive oeuvre is currently being edited in a historical-critical edition at the Austrian Centre for Digital Humanities and Cultural Heritage (ACDH-CH). In addition, performance materials of selected works are being made available as open access via the web portal www.fux-online.at. Two concerts in 2017 of sacred vocal music by Fux and instrumental music by his contemporaries Georg Philipp Telemann and Antonio Vivaldi are presented on CD with a scholarly booklet. Based on fundamental source studies, three liturgical motets by Fux have been edited for music practice. The publication not only provides the Latin vocal texts, but also attempts to contextualise the pieces historically, to discuss structural as well as thematic peculiarities and to describe the music itself with its own statement and tradition in each case. Biographies of the contributors and information about the recording complete the booklet.
