Beiträge zur Ur- und Frühgeschichte Mitteleuropas

“Archaeologia Austriaca” is an international, peer-reviewed journal that is issued annually in print and online (Open Access). It was established in 1948 as a journal on palaeoanthropology and the pre- and early history of Austria as a successor to the “Wiener Prähistorische Zeitschrift” and covers all periods from the Palaeolithic to the modern age that are being investigated in archaeological, anthropological and interdisciplinary studies. In the course of reorienting the journal in 2013, the original geographical and cultural focus was revised and extended beyond Austria. The journal publishes articles, research reports, features on particular topics and book reviews relating to archaeology in Austria, Europe and related regions.
