Since 1848 the “Sitzungsberichte der mathematisch-naturwissenschaftlichen Klasse“ has been an important medium for the dissemination of knowledge from the natural sciences. It is not merely a medium for communication for researchers but also constitutes an important means for laypersons with an interest in science to keep abreast of research. For several years now, the content of the most recently published volumes has also been available on the internet.
