The historical-philological book of names covers all Austrian place names (names of villages, mountains, districts and waters) referred to in the historical sources from the 8th to the 12th centuries. The entirety of Austrian and foreign sources have been covered. The arrangement of the individual place names is in alphabetical order according to their current official names.
